Base Batches this year will feature two dedicated tracks:
Startup Track – For early stage teams. Generally we’re looking for teams who are anywhere from pre-product, pre-launch, or pre-seed and have raised less than ~$250k. The top 15 teams will receive a $10k grant, acceptance to an 8 week virtual program, access to Base builder hubs, and a spot to present at Demo Day in San Francisco this May. A minimum of 3 teams will receive a $50k investment from the Base Ecosystem Fund (subject to the fund’s diligence review).
Student Track – Open to students from around the world. Teams can only include undergraduate students, however a single team can comprise students from multiple universities. The top 5 teams will be flown to San Francisco and present during Demo Day.
Robotics Track by Virtuals - Open to builders with expertise, experience and strong interest in building robotics use-cases. Technical expertise in developing and deploying robotics policies is a huge plus. 10 teams will be admitted into the program, flown to a robotics labs in Kuala Lumpur and get to work on building with 30 Unitree G1 EDU units and a minimum of 3 teams will receive $50k investment from Virtuals Labs and an opportunity to present at Demo Day in SF.
Startup Track
NOTE: The startup track is designed for pre-seed teams who have raised <$250k in funding.
The start-up track is designed to support early stage teams take their business to the next level and take center stage to present to a live audience of VC, angels, and accelerators live from San Francisco.
Application Process
In order to be considered, interested teams must submit their application by March 9. Top candidates will go through an interview process:
- 1x Standard interview
- 1x subject matter expert interview
- Light paper (500 word submission)
Acceptances will be sent by March 22
Virtual Program
Admitted teams will join us for a virtual kick-off week, followed by an 8 week virtual program. Admitted teams will receive:
- $10k grant: to support teams during the program
- Dedicated Advisor: Each team will meet 1x per week with a dedicated advisor.
- Mentorship Dashboard: Access to a dashboard with subject matter experts across disciplines they can book for mentorship sessions
- Interview Series: Teams will be interviewed and featured on Base TV to do a deep dive into the products and background on their team
Demo Day
All teams will then join us for Demo Day live from San Francisco. Teams will then present to a live audience with investors, VCs and accelerators whom we invite to attend. A minimum of 3 teams will receive a $50k investment from the Base Ecosystem Fund (subject to the fund’s diligence review). All teams will be considered for investment by Coinbase Ventures.

Student Track
The Base team is excited to add a dedicated student track to Base Batches. Undergraduate students from around the world may form teams and submit their application by April 27 to be eligible. The Base team will select the 5 top overall teams and fly up to 2 team members from each team out to San Francisco to join us for Demo Day.

Robotics Track
Virtuals’ robotics track is designed for individuals and teams who are interested in building robotics use-cases with billion-dollar potential.

If you have an idea (or are already building), have experience in robotics (or have strong demonstrated interest), we welcome you to apply.
Robotics Lab
Virtuals is looking to shortlist 10 teams to come build together in a state-of-the-art Robotics Lab. Shortlisted teams will receive:
- Access to state-of-the-art Robotics Lab housing ~30 Unitree G1 Humanoids (all expenses paid, up to $10K)
- Dedicated advisor from Virtuals/Base, and network with top-tier Embodied AI researchers / robotics builders
- Opportunity to participate in Virtual’s Demo Day at Network School
Demo Day
Three winners of Demo Day at Network School will receive:
- US $50K investment per team from Virtuals Fund
- Opportunity to present at Base Batches finals in San Francisco
